Italy – Sardinia Travel Guide

First of all, a long weekend in Sardina is far too short do any justice to this barren beauty of an Island.  We arrived in Olbia and having a rental car proved to be extremely useful in exploring this diverse island.  Given our limited time, we explored the north part of Sardinia.  Alghero is a picturesque town on the western coast with quaint cobbled streets.  We were also fortunate to visit the town of Mamoiada during the atmospheric medieval carnival.  The food was fabulous and the people were warm.  We stayed at a rural Airbnb which added to the charm.  My recommendation would be that you spend at least ten days in Sardinia to scratch the surface of this unique island.
